The Jim Crow Laws: Who defended them and who opposed them
Although there were many supporters of the Jim Crow Laws (most of them being white Americans), many other races did not. Most of the races that did not like the Jim Crow Laws had the laws inflicted upon them. Although African Americans were mostly the ones suffering from the Jim Crow Laws, many other races (like the Jewish Americans, Hispanic Americans, Asian Americans, Pacific Americans, and Native Americans) did not approve of the laws. Because the white population were aiming for white supremacy in America in the South, the other races were oppressed. Because of the Jim Crow laws, the Southern blacks and other races were given a new chain. Though not as severe as slavery, the Southern black population were guaranteed that they would never earn a significant role in Southern society.
